I found that you have to be contentious of the reader but, mainly you should write for yourself. You should write for self expression. If you are constantly thinking about the reader while writing you piece wont be nearly as good. Also you should focus on a specific audience. However don't be to specific or not enough people will like it.

When she says Deep Talk she means any type of written or spoken word that means something at first glance, but is also thought provoking. It makes you go back through and rethink what you have heard or seen. In deep talk there is usually a deeper meaning then whats on the surface. sort of like a pond.

To me the last sentence means that if you do it right, and you talk is deep enough, the reader will finish the book, knowing what happened. However, they will still want to read it again and learn more. Peeling off layer by layer. Until you get to the center.
