Personal Connection to Lily

I think that one way I relate to Lily, and I am in every way not proud of this, is that I impulsively fib. It has become a self defense mechanism that I use when I forget to do my home work. Now I know that I shouldn't do that because it hurts me in the long run. Just like Lily I some times can make up brilliant fibs and other times I can't come up with anything. I can also relate to the time that she found out that August knew she was lying but was going to wait for for her to say something about it. This exact thing has happened to me and I just broke down and told my parents, the guilt was just to much to bear.

On a more positive note, I think I get the hang of things pretty quickly. In the book it says that Lily is able to quickly catch-on to all of the things that August is teaching her. This is the same way for me. One time, over the summer I went to work for my dad in his office. I spent the day helping a guy in the video production department who had hurt his arm. I was archiving video footage, printing discs, and converting video files like a well oiled machine inside of 3 hours. Now I am sure that most of the honey processing equipment that Lily uses are a little more complicated. However I feel that her skills and my skills are applicable.
