sensory writing sight

"One small step for man, one giant step for man kind." Even I had never heard those words before I could have gotten them just from this picture alone. We are used to a more yellow light that is absorbed by the plants and animals all around . On the moon there is nothing to absorb the light. Nothing to soften it. I is as colorless and clear as intangible glass, effortlessly flowing though empty space. The light seems to be filtered of all color by the emptiness it self. The nothings insatiable thirst for life sucking the warmth from the light like a vampire.

The astronaut who dares to brave this wasteland of wastelands, seems to be a creature of his environment. Covered head to toe in colorless gray dust. Dust and dirt that has never known rain or sun. Their single shiny eye that reflects their domain. Has a curious look to it but is all the same, lacking humanity.

I remember seeing this picture for the first time. It filled me with awe that we meager humans could go as far as putting a man on the moon and bringing him home without a scratch. It was inspiring, And ever since I have wanted to go to the moon and look back on the earth. A glowing blue gem, tiny and insignificant. And with seeing that the earth is small and beautiful, we realizes that we are even smaller but no less amazing.
